The Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), part of the University of Strathclyde, is a unique industry-facing whole energy systems facility built around a flexible real-world test and demonstration environment. This includes an 11kV to LV electricity distribution network at scale, power hardware-in-the-loop facilities, telecoms and communications capabilities, and associated modelling & simulation expertise.

The centre brings together academics, industrial organisations and technologists to define and execute accelerated technology and system innovation across the electricity, heat and transport sectors with the aim of shaping and optimising energy networks of the future and accelerating the net-zero transition. PNDC’s focus is on innovation the mid-to-late technology readiness levels (TRLs), providing critical acceleration of technology solutions into business-as-usual (BAU).
