Researchers at the University of Hull have recently started to explore how to alleviate heat stress in women exercising in hot conditions. The work, led by Dr Andrew Garrett will investigate how females respond and adapt to hot conditions, using a short-term heat acclimation regime that they have previously, successfully, used with male participants only (http://theconversation.com/elite-training-in-hot-conditions-for-competition-in-cooler-climates-a-hot-topic-45012). The facility is important as it used for undergraduate teaching and staff/postgraduate research.
