Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) (https://www.dementiasplatform.uk/) is a public private partnership established by the Medical Research Council (MRC) for translational dementia research. DPUK comprises a Data Portal, Trials Delivery Framework, and Experimental Medicine Incubator. Our mission is to provide an integrated research environment for dementia translation.

The Experimental Medicine Incubator (EMI) accelerates and de-risks early-phase clinical trials (https://www.dementiasplatform.uk/research-hub/experimental-medicine-incubator). There are three linked programmes – in synaptic health, neuroinflammation and vascular health – each with a portfolio of in-human studies designed through our academic-industrial collaborations. The EMI is validating new imaging, cellular and fluidic assays to establish targets, target engagement and future drug efficacy in longitudinal studies of people with dementia. In addition, genetic profiles and observational cohort data are used to stratify dementia risk and highlight candidate compounds for risk reduction.
