Centre for Hyperpolarisation in Magnetic Resonance

Submitted by simon_duckett on Mon, 07/22/2019 - 11:59

The Centre for Hyperpolarisation in Magnetic Resonance explores routes to improve the ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instruments to detect a response. Research operates within high and low field regimes and equipment can address challenges in catalysis, characterisation, synthesis and in vivo detection aligned to the monitoring of disease. The centres research is important because the methods we use can improve agent detectability by many orders...

Centre for Longitudinal Studies, Millennium Cohort Study

Submitted by emla_fitzsimons on Mon, 07/22/2019 - 11:59

The Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) is following 19,517 children born across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2000-01. This unique resource fills a major and unprecedented 30-year gap in longitudinal data on the UK population (previous national birth cohort studies were 12 years apart: 1946, 1958 and 1970). The cohort has been surveyed six times (9 months, 3, 5, 7, 11 and 14). The seventh survey is taking place in 2018 at age 17. At the time of its instigation, the key objectives...

Centre for PreClinical Imaging, Institute of Translational Medicine, University of Liverpool

Submitted by professor_hari… on Mon, 07/22/2019 - 11:59

The Centre for Preclinical Imaging aims to develop cutting-edge non-invasive imaging methods for assessing pathologies and response to treatment in the live animal. It aims to provide the expertise and infrastructure for non-invasive imaging in pre-clinical models to the research community at the University of Liverpool and its academic and industrial partners in the vicinity. The centre has been funded in large part by capital award funds from the MRC (£3.3M) and the UKRMP to establish the...

Centre for Longitudinal Study Information and User Support

Submitted by nicola shelton on Mon, 07/22/2019 - 11:59

CeLSIUS facilitates research access to the ONS Longitudinal Study ('the LS'), a secure data set based on the decennial census. It has operated in its current form since 2001 (and under the current institutional and management structure since 2012). The data were originally supported at the Social Statistics Research Unit, City University from 1982, with a support mechanism similar to the current arrangements since 1994. On this basis, we define the RII as 'long-term' in question 8 above. We...
